While Victor Wembanyama’s otherworldly physique and jaw-dropping skillset have him as a lock for the first overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, a chiseled 19-year-old with elite athleticism by the name of Scoot Henderson has been all but confirmed to follow up the Frenchman next week. Fresh off of gracing the cover of SLAM Magazine, PUMA Basketball’s most recent ambassador – as of last April – will be simultaneously debuting the brand’s latest on-court tooling this summer.
The PUMA All-Pro NITRO hits on all the same elements that have appealed the brand’s recent on-court toolings to the masses. A streamlined low-top comes infused with the banner’s staple Nitrogen-packed cushioning which utilizes a dual-layered system underfoot for targeted stability and responsive energy return. Above, a corded lacing system locks down the targeted zones of the engineered upper while hosting pockets of breathability and thin bright blue side stripe logos.
Honoring the late nights and early morning workouts Scoot has familiarized himself with throughout the years, a checkerboard treatment across the heel, collar lining and tongue construction imbue the Player Exclusive with vibes served straight from a 24-hour diner. A vibrant red color blocking reflects back on his hometown diner’s neon sign as the titular hue is stretched across the entirety of the upper while dark brown tones fill the tongue and lining. Elsewhere, the model endears itself further to the Marietta, Georgia native as #00 appears on the tongue tab and his O.D.D mantra – Overly Determined to Dominate – brings an intimate close to the pair at the heel.
Henderson could debut the silhouette on the court as soon as early July during the upcoming Summer League. In the meantime, enjoy an official look at Scoot Henderson’s PUMA All-Pro NITRO PE below. The pair will release on Draft Day next Thursday, June 22nd, for a retail price of $140 at PUMA’s flagship NYC storefront and online.
For more basketball-ready footwear, the Jordan Luka 2 “Space Hunter” releases on July 11th.
