At the beginning of July, it was announced that former Nike athlete Deion Sanders had rekindled his relationship with the Beaverton brand after signing on as the University of Colorado’s head football coach. Holding one of the most iconic signature silhouettes in The Swoosh’s history on the gridiron, it was only a matter of time before Sander’s roster of models returned to shelves – which has since been confirmed to debut in Kyler Murray’s DT ’96 PE from last season.
Holding an innate connection to the two-time Super Bowl champion – who also found success on both the football field and baseball diamond – Murray’s former player exclusive opts for a pitch-dark compliment to the Arizona Cardinals uniforms. Jet-black nubuck cures a dominant majority of the upper real estate in tandem with the sock-like collar, tongue construction and mid-foot strap. Elsewhere, seldom hints of team red enter the fold via the stitched oval laces and heel tab while additionally illuminating trim of the claw marked upper. Crisp white hues are reserved for the duo of swooshes and the tongue tab’s appearance of Deion’s iconic goalpost x home plate logo whereas the heel counter and spiked treads underfoot adhere to a striking marigold contrast.
Initially revealed in October of last season, Kyler Murray’s Nike DT ’96 Cleat PE is expected to be released in the coming months. As we await further release details, the pair can be seen in official imagery below.
In other news from underneath the Nike Inc. umbrella, the Travis Scott Mac Attack releases on December 2nd.
