Over the last two years, the New Balance 550 has amassed countless color schemes for all style preferences.
As summer gets going, Steven Smith’s relic from 1989 has emerged in a number of understated ensembles. Case in point?: A new “White†and “Turtledove†outfit that’s perfect for the warm season. Perforated and smooth leather across the upper indulges in a “colorless†finish that allows for the slightest contrast to shine in the spotlight, while also harkening back to the ’80s. Branding and other accents across the upper blend into their surroundings, diverting attention to the old school sole unit. Structural clips around the heel take on an off white tone that also covers the midsole. The “aged†design choice is rounded out by a grey outsole that’s seen more wear on concrete streets than hardwood courts since its return to the spotlight in 2020.
Enjoy official photos of the pair ahead, and expect a newbalance.com launch before summer ends.
