The Nike Air Max 97 gets a retro flair with the addition of corduroy and cursive.

For 36 years the Nike Air Max 97 has maintained an integral role within the Beaverton brand’s dominant lifestyle archives. Mirroring just as many textiles and compositions as its time under the Nike banner, the iconic Christian Tresser design now employs clad-corduroy tooling for the late summer aughts.
Introduced via a light pink corduroy base layer, the silhouette’s ribbed overlays enact a rainbow-like transition from the tongue’s maroon accents to the dark teal full-length overlay. A faint lime tint consumes the tongue while clarifying hits of jet-black illuminate the laces, pull tabs, inner lining and tread underfoot. The full-length Max Air midsole contrasts the vibrant upper with a light cream component while the mid-foot window shines in bright white cursive.

In other news from underneath the Nike Inc. umbrella, the Nike Kobe 8 Protro “Venice Beach” is returning for Summer 2024.
